I know it’s been a while, but we’ve been busy! This year, my family is moving overseas to lovely Paris, France for a temporary job assignment. This means a few big things for Hello Melly Designs, the main thing being I can’t have my own business running while living overseas. Visa rules, and all that. This change directly affects you, my dear quilter friends, so I wanted to keep you updated.
Late last year I made sure quilt shops had a chance to get wholesale patterns so you can check local quilt shops or Etsy for paper pattern copies, and digital patterns are being sold by my sister-in-law Christa in her shop, Sew Miss Chris. I had just closed everything down but was overwhelmed with emails of people looking for this pattern or that, so Christa (who is also my wholesale manager) just took over all the patterns completely! She is running the show now!
My husband spent a few years as a kid living in France, then again as a young adult. It has been his dream to return to France with his own family! We had anticipated it being a 2-year assignment, but it looks like it will be shorter. Temporary assignments are fickle things 🙂 but we are so grateful for the opportunity to be in France for even a short assignment.
I took French classes in college, so I’m not going in completely unprepared. I do know from our trip there several years ago (where these images are from, such a great trip!) that I also have a lot to learn 🙂
Before I moved from our home, I made sure Riley Blake sent me some Saturday in Paris fabric and I’ve already got some blocks to share with you! Expect to see some fun block directions coming your way soon. I can’t WAIT to finish the quilt and take quilt photos around Paris!!
Happy quilting 🙂
Félicitations, je suis un peu jalouse, profite de chaque instant.
Je te souhaite le meilleur!
(from Chicago, my French is very limited, looking forward to seeing pictures!)
