Introducing… Gleeful!
I truly couldn’t think of any other name when looking at this supremely happy colored quilt. This new pattern has been in the works for so long, and I’m thrilled to finally release it into the wild!
Gleeful is a block-based pattern (meaning, it has one block but it is made up of different fabrics and repeated) where the toughest part is making HSTs. So, definitely a confident beginner’s pattern.
This is the first bed-sized quilt I’ve made in my fabric line, Flutter and Shine, for Riley Blake Designs. The fabric pairs perfectly with several of their Confetti Cotton solids, and so I had to use both solids and prints in the quilt pattern so I could show both off! 😉
Normally I’m a white sashing girl, but when I mocked up this quilt, it just begged for something different! I picked Aqua and I wasn’t sorry for a single second. It’s perfect.
Gleeful comes in throw and twin sizes, and this is a twin size. I am always glad when my bed quilts extend past the mattress a little bit, so I made sure this pattern fulfilled that courtesy, and the twin size fits a cushy mattress perfectly!
I had Kelli of Simply Mackbeth do the quilting for me, and I’m so glad we went for a classic quilting design for a nice, traditional style block. I wanted a curve to contrast the triangle points, so the fan design was perfect.

Want to see more pictures? My testers did AMAZING jobs on their Gleeful quilts, and I will be posting them on my Instagram account this week!
(and thanks to my family for their patience while this pattern was in the works, I couldn’t do any of these things I love without their help!)
