Recently there was a sew-along for the I Heart You Mini Quilt (Free pattern and tutorial by Cluck Cluck Sew), and I’m always on board to make a mini quilt! Especially since my Valentine’s Decorations are severely lacking. This pattern was quick, simple, and just adorable. I’d love to do this again with a dark background fabric, like navy or some great cross weave fabric. There were some great mini quilts showing up on Instagram with the tag #iheartyoumini with all kinds of color combinations. The quilting community is so inspiring!
I usually take the opportunity to practice my free motion quilting on mini quilts, because if I mess it up it isn’t as big of a deal 😉 This time around I did some pebble quilting, which is just circles in various sizes all bunched together. It looks more difficult than it actually is, so I recommend it to beginners!
We’re pretty thrilled we have one more Valentine’s nod in our house… although this one is currently in a bedroom ha ha!
I have a Valentine Print coming to Newsletter Subscribers tonight, so don’t forget to sign up if you want exclusive freebies! (sign up on my side bar!)
That is so cute! I love the texture the quilting gave it!
