My kids are thrilled to tell anyone who asks that there are only 4 more weeks of school before summer here in Arizona, and they cannot wait!
This year was TOUGH for so many kids, mine included. We had lots of tears, lots of loneliness, and lots of frustration with technology! If ever there was a year to really celebrate finishing a trip around the academic sun, this is IT!
When Elisabeth of Wingmade asked me to do a collaboration on a Last Day of School Poster, I was on board 100%. As a fellow Arizonian and surface pattern designer, Elisabeth knew just what the perfect summer scene would be- a beach trip! I just added some lettering to the fun design and now kids everywhere can get pumped for their last day and the promise of summer adventures.
I put this up to snap a few photos before my kids came home (and it came down before then too- I’m going to put it up as a surprise on the last day and get pictures of them with it! Don’t worry- none of them care that I have a blog 😉 so the secret is safe) and it really got me excited for next month.
Won’t it be fun to walk up to this door? I’ll probably add a bucket of water balloons too- it gets hot here in May! We can celebrate before we even walk in the house! I’ll have standard print size copies inside for my kids to color since coloring is one of their very favorite things.
To get your poster, head to Wingmade and download your copy. This oversize print was done at a local FedEx, and I’ve also had luck at Office Depot or Staples (I’ve both had luck and no luck at each shop with printing large scale engineer prints- we think it might depend on who is on shift! Keep asking around if you run into a grump who says it’s not a “blueprint”. Happy posters are TOTALLY blueprints for a happy life.) If your school doesn’t get out for awhile yet, I won’t gloat too much that’s okay because printables are easily saved to your computer for when the time IS right, and can be printed again and again!
Elisabeth is also hosting a giveaway on her Instagram feed, @wingmadehome (and check her reels to see how she decorated her front door- she is definitely more into party décor than I am, ha ha!). She is giving away a physical poster to 3 people! Hurry on over, and please enjoy Elisabeth’s beautiful designs in her feed while you are at it.
Happy Weekend!
