I finally cleaned up my sewing room to a presentable state (ha!) so I took some photos to do a little sewing room tour. I always like to see where others create, so I hope you enjoy a little peek into my space!
The first thing you see when entering my sewing space is my mini quilt wall and aqua mini fridge- that always gets a reaction! And yes, it is stocked with drinks and snacks. Sometimes I sew late into the night or forget to stop for lunch, so it is nice to have something within arm’s reach!
I have two long tables (cheap from IKEA) and one has my sewing space, and the other my cutting space.
My aqua pegboard has my cutting supplies, rulers, and extras readily accessible. I also have my Triangle Cheat Sheets pinned up on the wall so I can reference them easily. My mini quilts continue in this corner, so it is a pretty view!
I also have some of my lettering quotes up on the wall, one painted on wood and the other is a printable for my newsletter subscribers. Both were made to encourage, and they still do the job.
My quilting fabric is all stored on some bookcases- I don’t have a huge stash, I prefer to get fabric for projects as I begin them. I also keep my quilting books and patterns out and handy. The top shelf has BabyLit books, since my kids come into my sewing room and I’d rather they NOT play with my pins 😉 I just hand them a book and we talk about the original stories and admire the cute illustrations.
I love having my own space to create, and surround myself with other creations to keep the inspiration going. Little pieces of my personality are scattered throughout the room, like my brass figurines or monograms. My kids also have their own art they’ve added to the room, with mod-podged picture frames or crayon drawings. It is fun to look around and see little influences of my family around me as I work.
My space may be small, but it is prefect for me! Back when I began a blog, I only had space in a cupboard of my china cabinet. Having a room all to myself is a dream come true! My family does sacrifice this space for my use, so I am grateful to them for it.
I hope you enjoyed a little peek into my space!
I love looking at sewing spaces. There are a lot of good ideas in them usually. So what does this room look like when you are in the throes of a new project? Just wondering if it looks like mine. Haha
You can’t see any table top, that’s for sure! Ha ha! And there is always thread on the floor- I try and pick it up as I go to save my vaccuum but it’s futile. 🙂 I do try and straighten the chaos mid-project nowadays, before it gets too crazy.
I’m getting ready to design a sewing space in my house as well. I’m super excited! I enjoyed your tour. It gave me a ton of great ideas.
I love your space! Where did you find the triangle sheets? I’d love to print these for reference. 😄
They’re my own printable, you can find it on the blog! Just search “cheat sheet” and it should pop up 😉 I hope they are helpful!
Can you please tell me where you got the white chair, and is it comfortable?
Hi Pam! I got the chair at Home Goods, and while it is more comfortable than my previous folding chair, it isn’t quite as deep as I’d like it to be. I’m still on the lookout for a more comfortable chair that can roll across the room!
j’aime votre collection de courtepointes miniatures si jolies!
