One of my most popular patterns is my Stars in Stripes quilt, so at this lovely, summer-y, patriotic-y time of year it seems appropriate to make another one! This time, the quilt needed a baby size spin for a baby due soon.
While the original pattern had blue stripes and red stars, I wanted to go a little more traditional this time with the good ol’ red and white stripes. The quilt is for a baby girl, so in order to keep it feminine, I chose fabrics that featured petite florals…
… with the exception of what I call the “dad star” because it has a playbook illustration on it! In our house, my kids know I’m the athletically challenged one so they know to turn to Dad for learning those kinds of skills… hence the Dad Star 😉 Dads and daughters certainly have special relationships!
When I was done with the quilt top, I just used an allover stipple to quilt it all together. I find that the stipple washes up really well, and the quilts I’ve done with this quilting are always the softest. That was important to me for a baby quilt! I hope the recipient (and her parents!) love this quilt for years to come.
